The Adventure Has Begun

My name is Sam Chapman. I grew up in an Air Force family and have seen more of this great country than most people ever will. I have lived in New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Michigan, Alaska and Texas. I finally moved to Utah from Central Texas in 2022.

I chose Utah, specifically the Salt Lake City area, because I wanted to be close to everything a guy my age would need, but also so I could be close to mountains and all they have to offer. I wanted to be able to enjoy four real seasons, complete with spring wildflowers and fall colors, again. More importantly, I wanted to be in a place I could hike and ski until I can’t walk or crawl any more. Things could not have worked out better.

I did a few great hikes with my dad and brother as a teen and in my early 20s, but nothing like here. Since moving to Utah I have done a lot l hiking since. I chose to start this blog to share my adventures with the Chapman family, friends and anyone who stumbles across this blog. I’ll post photos, videos, descriptions of hikes and anything else I feel like sharing.

These are just a few of the images I have taken over the past few years in Utah. Believe me, there will be plenty more. If you like the site, please bookmark it and come back often!

The final images are of me at the lower falls in Bell Canyon, near where I live in Sandy, Utah, and inside the “cave” at Donut Falls in Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah.
